New Street, Armadale

Constructed in the late 1890's, this historically significant cottage was in dire need of extensive renovations and further additions to bring life and functionality back into this once striking residence.

First and foremost, the design intent was to preserve the integrity and historical significance of the dwelling. The modern extension is sympathetic to the original features, which is recessed back from the main façade with the choice of materials and geometry, a reflection of the current dwelling.

The original, inflexible and confined layout has been re-designed to allow amble northern sunlight to penetrate deep into the dwelling. The first-floor extension provides the required space to accommodate a modern family's needs.
